As a native of Jamaica, Amique has grown up drinking ginger juice also known as ginger beer which is a natural source of antioxidant. Once she migrated to the United States, the ginger beer at the local stores were more like a carbonated drink and less like what she remembered growing up. After obtaining a masters degree, being a manager for several major corporations with no work-life balance, and starting a family, it was time for her to come up with a business that would benefit others, and her family.
